Lara Scoppettone, a graduate of the Fine Art department at UCSC, is a Santa Cruz native, born in 1980. Lara has been sketching and painting since she was old enough to hold a pencil. The collection of work on exhibition here is representative of her strong interest in portraiture and still life compositions done in the tradition of the Old Masters such as Rembrandt and John Singer Sergeant. At UCSC she has studied with Frank Galuska, among others in the department. Lara paints daily in her studio in the Santa Cruz Mountains.
